There was a good letter about a sci fi and fantasy event, which i will just forward here.
Sci Fi and Fantasy Con

"Hi,

i didn't know if you would be interested in this or not and if it would be something you can promote to your members (like me). However, in October there is a fantastic Sci-Fi and Fantasy convention taking place in Bristol (UK) called Bristol Con11. The convention has been running for a few years now and is really starting to find its feet and it is becoming a fantastic event for artists to display and sell their work.

Not only this, it gives the artists (and writers too) an opportunity to talk to and spend time with some real big names in the industry (For example this year Jim Burns is one of the guests) and pick their brains for advice. I attended last year I found it a great event, not only did I get to meet some great like minded guys and sell some work, but also met some publishers and land a few commissions for magazine covers etc... Something that would have never have happeaned if I hadn't attended.

I felt I should share this with my fellow DA artists, and if you can give a shout out or a plug to the members of your group, I feel that those guys that can attend, to display there work or just for the event itself, will find it not only a great day, but also a fantastic opportunity to get themselves and their work out there and pick up some invaluable advice too.
